This episode explains the bizarre Trip-and-T’Pol dream sequences seen in the previous episode “Affliction”. It turns out that as a result of them sleeping together in season three’s “Harbinger”, they now have a psychic link.

Additionally, T’Pol finally asks Trip to stay on Enterprise and kisses him.

He agrees to stay and reveals that he’s already requested a transfer back from Columbia.
